I was interviewed a while back for a piece in the March issue of Pages Magazine, the “magazine for people who love books.”

Today, I go to check out their website… and I see this:

Dear Pages Subscriber:

On December 29, 2006, Advanced Marketing Services, Inc., which publishes Pages magazine, filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. AMS is now conducting business as a debtor in possession under the supervision of the bankruptcy court.

Prior to filing the petition, we diligently explored a number of alternatives to strengthen AMS’s financial position. Although we made some progress, we were unable to secure new financing, and the petition was filed as a result.

Effective immediately, AMS has ceased publishing Pages magazine. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we thank you for supporting the magazine.

At this time, it has not been determined how the remaining portions of Pages subscriptions will be handled in the bankruptcy proceeding. We ask for your patience until that determination is made. In the meantime, information concerning the bankruptcy proceeding is available on the Investor Relations page of the AMS web site (

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you again for your support.

Pages Magazine

That’s right: They’ve gone under.

I would like to take full credit for this. They must’ve printed up so many copies (starting back in early December) in anticipation of this issue, that they ran out of money.

With this in mind, I predict Outreach Magazine will be filing for bankruptcy soon.

Get your copies while they last!
