Actor Will Smith resigned from all royal titles earlier today. No longer will the man who starred in such epic movies as King Richard, Independence Day, and Bad Boys be official Hollywood royalty.

William Carroll Smith was born to commoners on September 25, 1968, in Philadelphia. His mother was a school administrator. His father was an Air Force Veteran. Despite his humble beginnings, William had his eyes on becoming a Lord.

At an early age, Will crowned himself the Fresh Prince and allied himself with DJ Jazzy Jeff. The two warred tirelessly against other rappers achieving many accolades on the battlefield. In 1990 the Fresh Prince’s title became official when NBC officially gave him a crown with the television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Despite the lofty title of prince, Will had his eyes set on a grander position. He was relentless and his ambitions knew no bounds. William’s victories at the box office were numerous and his war chest grew larger and larger.

It was time to make a grab for the ultimate power and become a king.

Will Smith was crowned by the Academy for his role in the biographical sports drama movie King Richard. It had been a long climb up the aristocratic ladder for the boy from Philadelphia, but he had finally made it.

Or had he?

Moments before being crowned Smith struck the royal jester, Chris Rock. The violent act was committed in public. Many of the aristocrats present wondered to themselves If he feels comfortable doing this as a prince, what is he going to do when invested with the powers of a king?

It turns out that even kings have limits to their power.

The Academy announced they were investigating the violent outburst. Even though no one was talking about bringing out the guillotine, there was a buzz about stripping Smith from all of his titles.

Sensing the danger he was in, King William Smith resigned all of his royal titles. He is currently in exile.

This may not be the end of the King, however. Smith still has legions of fans ready to fight for him in the killing fields of Twitter.

We haven’t seen the last of him.
