YouTube video

Senator Rand Paul is permanently banned from YouTube. The Republican junior senator from Kentucky was banned from the social media platform for 7 days following a video of him spreading misinformation about facemasks and the coronavirus vaccine.

CNN reported on the week-long ban:

Sen. Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican, has been suspended from YouTube for seven days over a video claiming that masks are ineffective in fighting Covid-19, according to a YouTube spokesperson.

“This resulted in a first strike on the channel, which means it can’t upload content for a week, per our longstanding three strikes policy,” the spokesperson said. “We apply our policies consistently across the platform, regardless of speaker or political views, and we make exceptions for videos that have additional context such as countervailing views from local health authorities.”

YouTube Permanently Bans Rand Paul

Since that announcement, YouTube reconsidered its policy regarding channels and personalities that are causing the deaths of thousands due to feeding the flames of the antivaccine movement.

YouTube Senior Vice President Andrew Canard considers permanent bans to be the reasonable thing to do. “How is spreading misinformation that leads to the deaths of many equal to infringing on a copyright?” he asked. “It’s clear Rand Paul’s actions are more serious than using a pop song inappropriately. We need to make an example out of him.”

Mr. Canard further said that Paul will never be able to upload a video, upvote/downvote, or comment on YouTube. There is no way for the libertarian-leaning politician to appeal the decision.

Paul’s Medical License Revoked

Sources close to Paul say he’s showing signs of stress. Recently his medical license was taken away from him.

Patheos reports:

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul just lost his license to practice medicine, The American Medical Association (AMA) revoked the ophthalmologist’s ability due to “ethical concerns” and Paul’s “blatant disregard for the Hippocratic Oath.” The revocation of the license is permanent. Senator Paul will never again be able to treat patients.

Friends and family are keeping a close eye on him and giving him the support he needs during this difficult time.

In related news, Tucker Carlson was kicked off a flight due to his refusal to wear a facemask.
