Let’s add one more hateful Christian pastor to the ever-growing list of people who are practically giddy over the Orlando gay nightclub massacre.
Pastor Donnie Romero of Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas said in a sermon this past week that he agrees “100%” with Pastor Roger Jimenez that the victims deserved to die and the Earth is a “better place” because of their murders. (Jimenez said in a sermon, speaking of the victims, that “the tragedy is that more of them didn’t die.”)
Romero’s comments begin around the 1:15 mark below:

I agree 100% with Pastor Roger Jimenez. These 50 sodomites are all perverts and pedophiles, and they are the scum of the earth, and the earth is a little bit better place now.
And I’ll take it a step further, because I heard on the news today, that there are still several dozen of these queers in ICU and intensive care. And I will pray to God like I did this morning, and I will do it tonight, I’ll pray that God will finish the job that that man started, and he will end their life, and by tomorrow morning they will all be burning in hell, just like the rest of them, so that they don’t get any more opportunity to go out and hurt little children.
The last time we posted about Romero on this site, in 2014, he was telling his congregation that all “dirty faggots” want to “snatch your children” to “hurt and rape them.”
All three hate-pastors — Romero, Jimenez, and Steven Anderson — lead “an independent fundamental Baptist church” that uses only the King James Version of the Bible. Romero was even ordained by Anderson.
I bring that up only to say that, while most Christians would disavow them immediately, there are hundreds of people who take these bigots very seriously. And let’s not forget the hate directed at LGBT people by evangelical pastors who don’t want to see LGBT people murdered, but who constantly speak about how being gay is a choice, who say that homosexuality is a “disease” that can be “cured,” and who fight against civil rights for that community.
These three hate pastors may have our attention this week, but the mainstream pastors who do everything in their power to make LGBT lives not worth living deserve just as much criticism.
