Evangelist Franklin Graham is very upset about the recent election for Wisconsin Supreme Court in which the more progressive candidate ran away with the victory.

He wants to make sure that doesn’t happen in November in the midterm elections, so he’s calling on his base to be on the lookout for so-called “progressives.”

Christians should be aware of candidates who call themselves progressive. Progressive is generally just a code word for someone who leans toward socialism, a person who does not believe in God, and someone who will likely vote against Godly principles that are so important to our nation. Do your research and vote for Christians when possible, or at least select candidates who would be supportive of Christian positions. The people of Wisconsin just lost one of their state Supreme Court Judge seats to a progressive. In my opinion, if Christians had come out to vote, this very key seat would not have been lost.

I don’t know what’s worse: Graham’s screed against a judicial nominee of Jewish descent? Him claiming that progressive is synonymous to Socialist which is synonymous with atheist? His lack of recognition that many consider Jesus to be a Socialist?

Maybe it’s the idea that True Christians™ can only vote for a right-wing candidate, and those voting for Democrats (or, in this case, a non-partisan candidate supported by Democrats) are somehow traitors to their faith.

We don’t have exit poll data for this particular race, but it’s a given that Christians came out to vote. This is Wisconsin, after all, and more than 80% of Democrats believe in God.

Graham doesn’t recognize them because the only real Christians in his mind are those who support Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

He refuses to acknowledge that Trump is a disaster and Wisconsin’s conservative-dominated judiciary has become so corrupt that voters are demanding change and choosing more sensible candidates.

I hope that continues well into November.
