It’s never easy to criticize your own community, but Drew McCoy (a.k.a. Genetically Modified Skeptic) does a nice job picking apart a handful of comments he’s heard other atheists make about Christianity.
For example, some of them say “The Bible is written by savages.” McCoy says that’s not true and makes our side look ignorant.

He includes the disclaimer right up front that he’s not saying all atheists says these things. But he has heard them, which is why he’s addressing them. There’s plenty to criticize about religion that we don’t need to generalize or use sloppy arguments to make our point. Kudos to Drew for holding our side to a higher standard.
