It was more than a year ago that rapper B.o.B. — best known for his songs “Nothin’ on You” and “Airplanes” — told his 2.3 million Twitter followers that the Earth was flat.

(That even prompted a response from Neil deGrasse Tyson.)
So what was B.o.B. saying during today’s solar eclipse?
A lot. None of it peer-reviewed or published. For example, he claimed the moon generates its own light (it doesn’t), blamed the Hindu God Rahu for causing the eclipse (the myth says he swallows the sun),
it's so amazingly beautiful how the moon can pass in front of the sun multiple times in one day #FknScienceBro

It's so amazingly beautiful how the moon isn't visible before and after a total solar eclipse #SolarEclipse17 #FknScienceBro

according to a textbook yes, but the moon actually generates its own light https://t.co/PyUO2SHdmf

a spherical object doesn't reflect/refract light evenly across its surface https://t.co/q8wYLhapqF

To those who urge him to learn some science, he left an opening:
tell me the authors and publishers of all your physics books and I'll consider https://t.co/B37XIk6LAZ
— B.o.B (@bobatl) August 21, 2017
And to those who wonder where he gets all this ignorance from, he offered the most plausible argument to date:
i spill alphabet soup onto the floor and write whatever words form https://t.co/cnIAKI9fP1

If only that were true… because the alternative is horrifying.
