Televangelist Kenneth Copeland, who said a couple of weeks ago that God told him the pandemic would “be over much sooner than you think” (but still wants you to tithe even if you’ve lost your job), recently delivered a prayer that said COVID-19 is “finished.”
It’s not finished.
Not even close.
That may be why Copeland delivered a different prayer yesterday, this time literally spitting on the virus… in an empty church, surrounded by his favorite hype men.

For your sake, the transcript below removes the repetition. But keep watching. It just gets better with every passing second.
The Almighty God!
The El Shaddai God!
The God who is Almighty!
He’s more than enough.
He is the miracle-working God.
Today, we speak to this atmosphere from the state of Washington to the state of Maine. From Southern California to Brownsville, Texas. And the tip of Florida. And wherever else in the world it’s needed.
Wind! Almighty! Strong! South wind! Heat! Burn this thing! In the name of Jesus! I say, you bow your knees! You fall on your face.
COVID-19! [Spit]
I blow the wind of God on you! You are destroyed forever. And you’ll never be back. Thank you, God. Let it happen. Cause it to happen.
I have so many questions…
Why is he screaming when there’s no one in the audience?
Other than the ability to blindly repeat phrases like a preschooler, what are the qualifications to be one of those guys standing at his side?
If they don’t repeat Copeland’s words verbatim, do the prayers even count?
What does spitting on the virus accomplish?
Isn’t spitting exactly what you don’t want to do in the midst of a pandemic?
Did he seriously just spit in the face of an imaginary virus?
Do you think those other guys had a split-second of WTF hesitation before spitting right after him?
What happened to the previous prayer where Copeland declared the crisis “over”? If this prayer supersedes that one, what does it say about the power of the previous prayer?
How many months of these “IT’S OVER!” prayers do his Christian followers need to hear before they realize he’s a scam artist?
