YouTuber Alex J. O’Connor (a.k.a. CosmicSkeptic) does a fine job in this video of debunking the “fine-tuning argument,” the belief that the constants defining our universe (like the expansion rate of the universe) could not be altered in any way or else we wouldn’t exist. Therefore, God must have made it that way since the odds of everything just falling into pieces that way are infinitesimal.
While Alex covers a lot of ground, there’s also the obvious response that our world isn’t finely tuned at all. Our sun will eventually engulf the planet and destroy everything on it. Not exactly the work of a supernatural genius.
