Springfield, Missouri is a city that has an open forum when it comes to displays on public property — something Christians have frequently taken advantage of by installing a Nativity scene over the holidays — and this year, the atheists at Springfield Skeptics decided to join in the fun.

Instead of a manger and myth, they decorated and installed a temporary lending library in Jordan Valley Park in order to spread some knowledge.

There are some good books in there! Though if they really wanted to have some fun, they’d include holy books from various religions and see which one’s most popular. At least residents who walk by the Nativity will now find something more useful within walking distance.
