Prosperity gospel preacher and Donald Trump‘s “spiritual adviserPaula White, last seen casting out the White House’s demons, says that everywhere she walks is holy ground.

White was preaching last month at The River Church in Florida, founded by fellow right-wing preacher Rodney Howard-Browne, when she claimed the White House was made “holy ground” by the very nature of her being there.

“The church is Christ’s body in which he speaks and acts and by which he fills everything,” White proclaimed, “including the White House, including government halls.”

“How does he do that?” she asked. “He does that through you. He does that through me. Wherever I go, God rules. When I walk on White House grounds, God walks on White House grounds. When I walked in The River, God walked in The River. When I go in to the dry cleaners, that dry cleaning place becomes holy. I have every right and authority to declare the White House as holy ground because I was standing there and where I stand is holy.”

Exactly. And when she goes to the bathroom, she produces holy shit.

White never explains what it means for the White House to become holy. I can only assume it means Trump’s team puts more refugee children in concentration camps, just like Jesus wanted. Whatever it means, it’s not doing the country any good.

By her logic, of course, the White House was holy when fellow Christian Barack Obama lived there, too. Not that her brand of white evangelicals are about to admit that. Actually, if she turns the White House holy by the nature of her presence, there’s an assumption it’s not holy when she’s not there… which would mean no Christians are currently in the White House.

Did I break her chain of logic? Do I win a prize?!
