H/T for these to an African humanist friend of mine who was annoyed at “the extent of gullibility in Africa. And the extent these prophets would go to so they make money.” This is certainly a problem. The problem is that, as soon as you mix religion/belief and money, you get manipulation. Humans are gullible and believe what they want to. Money muddies those epistemological waters.
