Once again revealing a curious lack of priorities, the three moms at One Million Moms (Twitter count: 4,779) are outraged over the mere inclusion of same-sex parents in the children’s cartoon “Clifford the Big Red Dog.”

A friend of the main character has two mommies, and that apparently warps the minds of little kids.

… The same-sex couple was first introduced in a mid-February episode titled “The Big Red Tomato/Dogbot.” There was no disclaimer at the beginning of the episode where their relationship is explained.

Discussion of such controversial topics and lifestyle choices should be left up to parents. PBS KIDS should not introduce the LGBTQ lifestyle to young children. PBS KIDS should stick to entertaining and providing family friendly programming, instead of pushing an agenda.

It’s not clear why a disclaimer is needed to say “humans exist.” You see the image above? That’s literally all the cartoon showed in terms of the couple: a few seconds of screen time with no reference to their orientation.

Simply acknowledging a same-sex couple isn’t “pushing an agenda” any more than featuring a straight one. (If you’re looking for something that violates God’s intended design, you might want to check out that giant red dog.)

If parents of kids watching the show want to tell them that having two mommies is bad, that’s their (misguided) choice. But the show isn’t preaching anti-Christian values. Groups like OMM insist on finding opposition where none exists because they would have nothing else to do if they didn’t create their own enemies.

If only they would generate this same level of outrage when it comes to refugee kids in cages.
