Reading Time: 5 minutes I just stumbled upon an essay I wrote in 2003, not long after the WTC attacks. There is a lot of anger in this piece. Since then, I have thought about this subject a lot, and my views have changed somewhat, but the threat we faced then has not diminished. In fact it has increased, […]

Biblical Inerrancy, Moral Relativism and Leviticus
Reading Time: 4 minutes In a recent online discussion, fundamentalist Christians were challenged to defend passages in the Book of Leviticus in the Old Testament (OT). The section in question details punishment for a number of ‘sins.’ The following is all from Leviticus: 20:9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to […]
Evolution and Climate Change
Reading Time: 3 minutes If you were raised in a devoutly Christian household, what were you taught even before you finally chucked those diapers? Miracles
Reading Time: 3 minutes Most religions are based on stories of miracles. Those miracles are always performed by a supernatural deity. The Bible is absolutely chock-full of miracles, from the immaculate conception and resurrection, to the water-into-wine trick. But the clincher is that huge bunch of miracles listed in the book of Genesis…about the creation of Heaven and Earth and all the living things on it. I can’t even count all the miracles in Genesis. I haven’t checked Guinness, but it must be a world record.
