Reading Time: 8 minutes OnlySky · I belong to me | Dani Ward Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the concepts of agency and autonomy, how necessary they are for a fulfilling life…and how impossible they are when consent is ignored. Reading Time: 7 minutes In the spring a Gen X blogger’s fancy lightly turns to this year’s Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). In election years, these meetings get extra-exciting for observers of this embattled denomination. Reading Time: 9 minutes The contents of that speech and its intended audience both matter enormously. They tell us a lot about how authoritarians model behavior for their followers — and warn them of the consequences of stepping out of line.
