Reading Time: 6 minutes For your movie streaming pleasure, here’s my review of #3 in the “God’s Not Dead” movie franchise series. While it did poorly financially, the script was an improvement on its predecessors.
God’s Not Dead
Movie Review: “God’s Still Not Dead: You Can’t Keep a Good Man Down”
Reading Time: 7 minutes Let’s critique the sequel to the popular “God’s Not Dead” movie. If you’re a Christian and want to hear that the sky is falling, this one is for you.
Why the Hogans’ Marriage Seems So Evangelical in ‘This Present Darkness’ (LSP #139, Ch. 21)
Reading Time: 8 minutes In this installment, we check out the deteriorating marriage of Kate and Marshall Hogan. In two of the subplots given to us in Chapter 21, their relationship takes center stage. So today, Lord Snow Presides over some more evangelical projection — this time in the case of the Hogans’ marriage!
The Attack of the Evangelism Apps!
Reading Time: 11 minutes I downloaded a whole bunch of evangelism apps last week and ran through them. I’ll show you what they are, how they work, and how likely they are to accomplish literally anything of use to the Christians who create and use them. Join me for a grand tour of evangelism apps!
Evangelicals Know Exactly How to Persuade Atheists: A Nice NDE!
Reading Time: 10 minutes Today, let me show you one of the most pernicious myths evangelicals believe about atheists: that all they need is a huge catastrophe in their lives to strong-arm them into believing in nonsense for no good reason.
A Strange Evolution: When Fundagelicals Loved the ACLU (LSP #48)
Reading Time: 7 minutes Long, long ago, when I was a wee bright-eyed Pentecostal lass, I had a run-in with an anti-theist college professor. I wrote about it a few years ago, but I always intended to come back to that story because there was a part I hadn’t mentioned at the time. You see, my evangelical peers had an instant–and unanimous–response to the situation when I told them about it. They wanted me to go talk to the ACLU.

When Bullies Think They’re Victims
Reading Time: 9 minutes This past weekend as I was exiting my local movie theater, the poster for the latest installment of the God’s Not Dead franchise stopped me dead in my tracks. I just stood and stared at it for a full minute, trying to process what I was seeing. The poster features the movie’s star and producer, David […]
God’s Club: Why Fundagelical Movies Create Such Polarized Opinions.
Reading Time: 8 minutes I’ve been doing reviews of Christian movies for a while now. And unsurprisingly, I have been uniformly unimpressed because Christian media is uniformly awful. But to hear Christians themselves talk about “their” movies, these are all masterpieces. Epics. Perhaps marginally flawed here and there, but essentially wonderful. Everyone else is left to wonder if they’re even seeing the same movies these Christians are praising. I’m not surprised at all to see this lopsided reception.
